Elena Lyalina is a native of Russia. She is currently on DMA program at the University of Georgia at studio of Dr. Rivkin. She received her musical training at the Togliatti College of Music, Nizhny Novgorod State Conservatory, (Russia), University of Northern Iowa, and at the International Summer Mozarteum Academy in Salzburg (Austria).

Her teachers include Irina Bogdanova, Valery Starynin, and Dmitri Vorobiev. She is a prize winner of the UGA Concerto Competition (Athens, GA), Pro-Mozart Society Competition (Atlanta, GA), two National Chamber Competitions in Syzran and Volgograd (Russia), and second prize at the Samara County Piano Competition (Russia). Elena also received an Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award from the Hugh Hodgson School of Music at the University of Georgia, Sigma Alpha Iota Jan Fowler Cross Scholarship award, and Calhoun Piano Scholarship award.

Elena has also participated in master classes with Michel Beroff, Philippe Entremont, Nelson Delle-Vigne Fabbri, Dina Joffe, Valery Kastelsky, Vladimir Krainev, Jerome Lowenthal, Dominique Merlet, Robert Roux, and Wu Han.
